They were 55 minutes late to the birth, leaving me and my husband to deliver our child, stimulate her to breathe, and deliver the placenta alone, with Penny Lane on the phone, and the on-call midwife "on the way" after numerous calls letting them know that my 19+ hour labor (for my 4th child) was progressing.
After requesting my medical file, I did some digging and found unfounded charges after all of my billable services were provided, with another $100 charge not showing up in my file, but showing up on the collection letter.
I am posting this review here, because the "Review" option on both Believe Midwifery Services, LLC Facebook page has been removed. I believe that there are others who need to know that they are not alone in their experience with this practice.
After a great pre-natal experience with Believe Midwifery Services, LLC I had a mediocre experience after I paid my account balance in full before the birth of my child.
I gave Ms. Lane 90 days to correct this and send me a refund before taking her to court. She didn't respond in that time, so I took her to court. The judge found in my favor and the judgement has been paid.
After setting up payment arrangements for the billable services received in the first 6 hours of my labor (which they left because Ms. Lane said I could go for a week after my water broke before the baby actually arrived) Believe hired an attorney to send me a collection letter for an amount that kept increasing by hundreds of dollars each time I was contacted.
